Emmanuel Witzthum

Emmanuel combines work as classical musician and composer, new media artist and creator and initiator of digital creative experiences that explore the crossroads between cities, community building, culture, innovation and Technology. He currently serves as Head of Creative Development for the Jerusalem Season of Culture. 
 
As composer his music has been performed in Europe, Asia, Israel and the USA. He has also created numerous artistic digital platforms such as mixthecity.com, mixthebody.britishcouncil.org  and mixtheplay.britishcouncil.org. Witzthum passion is to connect technology, creativity and innovation; facilitate platforms and interfaces affording cross cultural dialogue, and expand the creative communities.

In the aftermath of the COVID 19 pandemic the cultural sector can have an immensely vital role to play to foster empathy, compassion and community building. The pandemic has created a tectonic shift in strategic approaches to the business and funding models in the arts which together with harnessing innovation of digital technology can afford a platform to transform it’s strategic models and interaction with the public. This talk will address the challenges we must face and the potential opportunities that lie waiting for the cultural sector in the post pandemic era.
